Scholark is an independent, student-built, non-commercial educational project. It is not an incorporated company, business, or employer, and it is not revenue-generating. It does not sell paid access, subscriptions, advertising, or professional services. Scholark exists to provide free educational planning and academic-support tools for students.
1. What Scholark is
Scholark is a free educational planning and academic-support project. It provides calculators, study tools, planning features, admissions guidance, comparison tools, and related educational resources. Scholark is not a school, admissions office, lender, employer, company, law firm, or professional advisory service.
2. Educational-use disclaimer
Calculations, admissions estimates, financial-planning outputs, career information, and other results are provided for educational and planning purposes. They may be incomplete, delayed, or based on assumptions. Always verify important admissions, financial-aid, testing, course, and institutional information with the official source before making a decision.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login credentials secure, and using your account only for lawful educational purposes. Do not share passwords or attempt to access another person's account.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse Scholark to break laws, harm others, or interfere with the service.
- Do not attempt to bypass security controls, access private data, or disrupt the site.
- Do not scrape or overload the service in a way that harms availability for other students.
- Do not submit content you do not have the right to use.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of content you create. When you choose to save or sync content through Scholark, you permit the project and its infrastructure providers to process that content only as needed to provide the requested feature, maintain the service, and protect it from abuse.
6. Privacy and cookies
Use of Scholark is also subject to the Privacy Policy. Necessary storage supports core functions. Optional analytics can be controlled through Cookie Preferences and can be changed later. Scholark does not use advertising cookies or advertising personalization.
7. Non-commercial status
Scholark is not operated as a revenue-generating business. It does not charge users for the core platform, sell subscriptions, sell personal information, provide paid professional services, or run advertising monetization. If the project's operating model materially changes in the future, the site and these terms should be updated before that change is represented to users.
8. Third-party services and links
Scholark may use or link to third-party services such as authentication providers, government data sources, or educational resources. Those services have their own terms and policies. Scholark is not responsible for third-party content or availability.
9. Intellectual property
The Scholark name, visual identity, original interface, and original site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rules. Third-party trademarks, datasets, and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
10. Availability and changes
Features may be changed, improved, paused, or removed. Scholark may also update these terms when the project changes. Continued use after an updated version is posted means you accept the updated terms.
11. Young users
Scholark is designed for students, including high-school students. If the law where you live requires parent or guardian permission to use online services, use Scholark only with that permission.
12. Limitation of responsibility
Scholark is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the project is not responsible for losses caused by relying solely on estimates, temporary service interruptions, third-party services, or user-provided information.

Admissions workspace and local AI
Activities Lab stores activity cards, optional context, description versions, rubric feedback, and linked scores in this browser. Signed-in activity cards and linked scores can sync to your private Firebase account. Essay analysis and comments run in this browser; choosing Save Essay stores that draft and its score with your account.
Activity descriptions can be compressed offline or refined with an optional model running on your device. Scholark does not send activity or essay text to a hosted language-model API for these features. Model files may be downloaded from external hosting providers.
Creating a mentor link shares your activity descriptions, schedule, and portfolio score with anyone who has that link. It excludes essay text, rough notes, and optional context chips. Links can be revoked. Export or delete Activities Lab data from the Lab; saved essays have separate deletion controls.
Activity references are editorial composites, not admitted-student records. Writing scores and college planning ranges are heuristics, not official grades or validated individual admission probabilities. Generated commentary can be inaccurate; verify claims and preserve your own authorship.
